A Dyeing Art Studio

4000 Square Foot Studio and Spray Booth, Paint and Print Table

We cater to the Movie Industry, Television, Theatre, Opera, Ballet, Music Videos, Commercials, Costumes, Props, Sets, Backdrops, Interior Design Furnishings, High End Fashion, and Samples. We will do individual work, but as it is all hand done, it must be realized that this is labour intensive and the cost reflects this. We are NOT an industrial dye-house.

Vats These are the vats that we use to dye small items/yardage.

Main Sinks and mix table.

Main Sinks
Rollers Roller vats capable of dyeing up to 25 yards of fabric at a time.

Steam heated dryers (so that the fabric is not scorched by dry heat) that can accommodate up to 50 yards.

Dryers
Rollers Large 680 gallon vat that accommodates up to 100 yards of fabric and extra, extra wide fabrics for backdrops and sets. Rollers
Checking colours Each piece of fabric dyed is maticulously checked against the sample under natural, indirect daylight unless otherwise requested to ensure consistency and quality.

Not even the biggest star can put food or drink on this table....EVER!

White work table
paint table The print table is used for silk screening, fabric painting, discharging colour, etc. All lighting in the back paint room is UV filtered to avoid fading over long periods of time under neon lights.

Air brushing in our Binks 6x6 spray booth with its own air filters and lighting.

Spray booth
Paint Sink The paint room has its own seperate sink.

Every colour recipe since 1984 has been recorded in annual 'bibles'.

Fabric Bible
Large Tumbler This machine handles large quantities of jeans, t-shirts, slip covers, etc. and also ages and distresses. Huge tumble machine
The door on the left leads to the dye lab. This room has it's own air vents so that the dye powders will not contaminate the fabric. The dye is mixed into a paste and then brought out to the main dyeing area. Dye Lab and Break Room The door on the right leads to the break room, also with it's own air vents to allow the employees to relax, eat and drink in a well-ventilated, dye free area. The door remains closed at all times.
